Proudly supporting: LMU’s SFTV Industry Awards

We are happy to share that LightBender has been a part of the LMU’s SFTV Industry Awards 2021 prize package, offering tutoring and guidance through the post and color services to the winning students.

Being one of the top 10 film schools, Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television is educating the next generation of storytellers and setting them up for success in their careers. Each year, the school gives out SFTV awards for the top student films and LightBender is very proud to be a part of their 2021 prize package.

“We have been supporters of indie filmmaking since our inception and I personally have been doing it for over 20 years, so taking part in this exciting initiative was a natural decision for us,” shared Juan Cabrera, founder and senior colorist at LightBender. The prize for the winning students was not only color grading free of charge for their upcoming project, but more importantly offering LightBender’s expert advice and support throughout the whole process from preparation, to shoot, picking the post team, supervision of the entire process, and providing them with a strong Post-Production foundation for all their other projects.

“Lightbender was one of the most talked about prizes,” shared Lex McNaughton, Director of Industry Relations at LMU. “The experience was very meaningful and impactful to our students and we truly appreciate LightBender’s willingness to support these emerging filmmakers.”
